The Mal-Don Championship 2019
What a fantastic Mal-Don Championship Prize Giving we had on Sunday 8th December 2019. All three winners were decked out in their show finest, their horses beautifully turned out, and a large entourage came along to support each winner.
The sponsors of the Mal-Don Championship, Paul and Paula Brazier, handed out each of the amazing prizes to the Champion - Clare Griffin on Rockwood Rosie, the Reserve Champion - Sam Muzeen on Edmar Ianto, and the 3rd Runner Up - Rachael Taylor on Irish Jack, as well as their amazing Rosettes and a Champion Sash for Rockwood Rosie.
Each of the horses received a bunch of carrots, which they totally earned by being so well behaved whilst all the photos were being taken. A lap of honour was then taken by each winner, to rounds of applause from the supporters. It was magical.
Thank you to everyone that took part in the Championship this year; it has been a delight for the Sponsors - Mr and Mrs Paul & Paula Brazier - to sponsor something that, they hope, helps you strive for achievement, as well as being a great memorial to parents who supported them.
Well done to every one who participated in 2019, we are already looking forward to the Mal-Don 2020 Championship, you can qualify at each of the Tadley & District Riding Club Unaffiliated Shows we are hosting during 2020 - see dates on our Dressage Competition page and look out for the schedules under Online-Entries.

The Mal-Don Championship
We are extremely proud and excited to announce The Mal-Don Championship for all Unaffiliated Prelim and Novice competitors, which has been kindly sponsored by Paul and Paula Brazier, in memory of parents who encourage and support us to do what we love, inspiring Passion and Joy in Dressage.
All competitors competing in either or both of the Unaffiliated Prelim and Novice classes will have their percentage scores automatically entered into The Mal-Don Championship. An average of the three highest scores from each combination will be calculated (you must compete in at least 3 separate competitions to qualify) and the highest average will be deemed the Champion for the year, and prizes for the top three combinations will be awarded.
Prizes will include:
The Mal-Don Champion – Championship Rug, Rosette and Sash, plus free entry to any class at The Croft EC
The Mal-Don Reserve Champion – Championship Saddle Pad – Rosette and free entry to any class at The Croft EC
The Mal-Don Championship 3rd Place – Championship Bandages - Rosette and free entry to any class at The Croft EC
These will be awarded at a special photographic presentation in December.
Mal-Don Championship Prizegiving
Saturday 15th December 2018
We had a fantastic finish to our year with the 2018 Mal-Don Championship Prizegiving. Our three winners all turned up in their perfectly turned out show outfits, looking absolutely marvellous, and the sponsors, Paul and Paula Brazier proceeded with the Prizegiving.
Our Mal-Don 2018 Champion was Beth Mantel with Media Man, who received a fabulous commemorative rug along with a beautiful Championship Rosette and Sash. Gemma Parkes with Kingstead Capone were our Reserve Champion and received a wonderful commemorative Saddle Pad along with the beautiful Reserve Champion Rosette, and our Third Runner Up, Rachael Taylor with Jack received the lovely commemorative Le Mieux Bandages as well as the beautiful 3rd place Rosette. The horses all received a bunch of carrots as a huge well done, which they were extremely happy with. Finally all the winners received a credit voucher for a future class at one of our shows.
Each took a lap of honour to tremendous applause from all their family and friends and everyone from The Croft Equestrian Centre who attended the event. We are so proud of all of them.
Well done to Beth, Gemma and Rachael for making our first Mal-Don Championship so special, thank you so much.
We begin the qualifying rounds of the 2019 Mal-Don Championship at our 2nd March Show; we hope that many more will enter in 2019.
